10-03-06.....
Spent the last few days cleaning up the boat from the road trip down here. It's amazing how filthy a boat can get during a 16 hour road trip.
Big 3 day Redfish tourney this weekend in Morehead City corresponding with the Seafood Festival. 27 teams from all over the south here for the finals of 06' and should be on ESPN this weekend. Cool watching their boats at 60+mph on the Intercoastal and the factory support teams replacing everything from bent props to power heads. The weather is supposed to turn to s#@* this afternoon which should be interesting.
10-16-06.....
Headed offshore today with Albert Bruno of New Bern for a shot at some early Albys. What we were not ready for were the Spinner and Black Tip Sharks that were in the bait balls along with Alberts some of which were pushing 18-20#. We lost more fish to the sharks and angler error than we landed. Rough count 20 landed and that plus 10 broken off. Great day on the water with Albert..

East Side
Wind 20-25mph seas 4-7' and I just had to go over.
This was my son Sean's first time fishing in NC and he was not let down. There were Albys breaking on bait that were possibly imature Glass Minnows about 1" in length just about every where that you looked. Landed some, lost alot.
Great morning on the water with my boy even if I had to yell at him a couple of times not too let the new "ECHO-2" 9wt hit the gunnel.
Did I mention that the wind was out of the
"EAST"
Now is the time to book a couple of days of the greastest Albacore fishing on the East Coast. It will not last forever but it can only get better as we get into November.
10-29-06.....
Yesterday was the 5th annual Cape Lookout Albacore Tournament that was held in conditions that kept all but the craziest of anglers tied to the dock. Out of 100 registered anglers only a hand full braved the winds up to 40mph out of the W / NW to catch Zero, Zilch, Zip.
Other than the lack of fish due to the lousy weather it was still a good day on the water.
11-01-06.....
Had a geat day on the water with my son Sean. After putting up with the bad weather for the last week the winds subsided and the fish ate. In less than 4 hours we landed a dozen Albies to 15#'s.
Pretty Fishies.....

11-01-06.....
Looked at the weather forcast today and decided to take another ride offshore before it went to S#@*. Some 6 miles out of the inlet we ran into some birds feeding on very large silver sides and we got right into the action. Sean had 2 really nice fish in the boat before it got too crowded. I then ran to the East side and there were fish all over the place. Tally for 3 hours fishing 15 Albys to 15# with several doubles. The fish hit both top water poppers and deep clousers.

11-07-06.....
Took a short ride out Beaufort Inlet at 9:00 this morning before the predicted bad weather moved in. There were birds and bait balls everywhere. I was able to land 6 nice Albies before the rain started at 11:30am and then headed back to the dock. Dosen't look like anyone will be offshore for the next couple of days if NOAA's perdicton is correct.

11-10-06.....
Finally we get a good weather day but the fishing really stunk. From Beaufort Inlet to the east side of the shoals and back, to Atlantic beach and back to the Inlet nothing but sipping fish not interested in anything,. What a disappointing 9 hours on the water. Still better than a good day at the office..
11-12-06.....
Not just a little snotty this morning,
down right nasty. Ron Bonnett with a really nice Albie before I called it.
